It's that time of the week again where we get to see what we have been blessed with. Personally, I don't think we should be disappointed. Today we see the release of a new Sicaran class tank: the Arcus.
In case you haven't caught the rules yet they can be found here:

Let's take a look at the rules. Just a heads up - I'm only going to be commenting on the 30k rules. This will be the general rule moving forward when it comes to discussing models that go across 30k and 40k.

The classic Sicaran stats and options we all know and love, with some fun warheads too
So we have the standard armour, ballistic skill, and hull points we'd expect to see, but what really sets this apart from the other tanks we've seen in the 30k universe is the choice of warheads paired with the Ripple Fire special rule (we'll come round to this shortly). It starts at 205 points before adding your optional extras, so it's a little more expensive than the other Sicarans, but I think it's well worth it. It will only be a matter of time before I'm running one in my army.
The warhead options gives this tank great versatility too. It can be equipped to take out infantry, armour, fliers, or mechanicum (yes, it has specific ammo for that). Thanks to the fact it "may take any of the following" you can also give it the option to pick and choose on a turn-by-turn basis.

Oh good, more ammo that can negate the effectiveness of jink, and cover in general too now! |
Now this is where the Arcus comes into its own; you remember that little rule I mentioned earlier? Ripple Fire? Well, here it is.
So this is a Sicaran that can do the usual move about and shoot, as you'd expect, but when it come down to it, it can just park itself and unleash whatever it wants twice in one turn. Let me paint you a story.
It's turn three. Your enemy's flyer hasn't come in yet. You may have fired your Arcus in your turn but it doesn't matter. In any turn it doesn't move it can fire twice. As you predicted would happen, the flyer finally arrives and you suddenly have the chance to pelt it with 8 S7 shots. Even if it jinks, any that are successful are rerolled, so even a Xiphon won't like those odds. Also, with 8 shots some of the jinks are going to fail.
It think this could fast become the most popular Sicaran, but that's just my opinion. What do you all think about the new tank? Leave your comments below and on our Facebook page.
