I'm Back, Brethren!

Yes, believe it. I'm back.

Unfortunately for reasons outside of my control I had to take a small hiatus. ("But Tom, you only gave us, like, two posts and it's been two months since, you slacker!!" - Shut up. I can count how many times I posted. And it was three posts anyway, so, yeah.)

Right, let's give you the abridged version of what's happened since then:

Warhammer Fest was great. I got Magnus and Amon early, played 40k 8th edition early, and got info that Rogal Dorn is the next Primarch being worked on. It looks like it will be Sanguinius after that, but things may change. Old news. Moving on.

A new sicaran has been given to us. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand I think it's great, on the other I think it's really not but I'm eager to see it in action. A nice quick overview of that for you. Next.

All the dakka. Count it; all.

True scale mar... I mean Primaris Marines, are getting a codex and some nice models, including a floating tank despite Custodes apparently having lost theirs somewhere between the Heresy and the 41st century. Guilliman, do you have a hidden chop shop somewhere....?

I think that will do for telling you things you already know. Now on to the interesting part - what's coming up for us all!

Of course, we have the Forge World open day on the 13th of August. I don't think I will be able to get there, but things may change. I hope we will get our Horus Heresy rule book released for then. I would quite like to see a black book, similar to what they did with the limited edition of the Legiones Astartes: Age of Darkness army book. I won't lie, I just want my shelf to look uniform.

A man can dream, dammit!

The week after that there is an event being held at my local gaming club, so you can bet I will be reporting on what goes down there. So far I expect to see a good mix of legions: Sons of Horus, Blood Angels, Emperor's Children, Space Wolves, Imperial Fist, Iron Hands, maybe some Custodes, and, of course, Thousand Sons will all be making an appearance I would expect.  Not to mention World Eaters, Word Bearer, Emperor's Children, and Alpha Legion. You get the idea.

As such on the lead up I will be posting some "Army Roll Calls", in part just to show off the legions and give them some love and attention. We have some superbly painted armies at our club after all, so why not?

Well, that's all I have to say for today but keep an eye out for my new posts. Yes, it will happen with no hiatus this time.

Battle Report: Sons of Horus vs Imperial Fists and Space Wolves

Battle Report (20th May 2017) First battle report - well, you've got to start somewhere! A bit of history with this one - in a previous battle the Sons of Horus had a convincing win against the Space Wolves and Imperial Fist and they demanded a rematch. Read on for the result... Combatants Sons of Horus - Lewis Sons of Horus (Luna Wolves) - Tom (XVth) vs. Imperial Fists - Dave Space Wolves - Liam Setup The battle was 6000pts aside, and with a Primarch and a warhound titan on each side mayhem and destruction was assured. It was standard Dawn of War deployment and Mission 6 from the Age of Darkness book - War of Lies. Sons of Horus won the roll off and chose for the Fists and Wolves to deploy first. With Horus on side it was quite likely they could seize the initiative after all. Dawn of Warhammer Fest

It's almost upon us! This Saturday is that start of a weekend centred around all things Warhammer. I will be giving updates via the Facebook page throughout the first day, so you can think of this as the pre-event build up. Let's see what we have to look forward to! Seminars and Demo Pods Of course, there are the presentations which will include news on the next batch of models to be released, painting demos for the new plague marines, the chance to meet some of the authors of the GW novels, and more. I will be booking my ticket for the Future of Warhammer seminar as soon as I arrive so will hopefully be able to give you an update around midday. Saturday's plan of attack: get there, get in room 1 for 11am, do Warhammer stuff. Done. The Grand Tornament Taking place over the entire weekend there will be battles spanning the whole GW range: Hours Heresy, 40k, Age of Sigmar, Bloodbowl, and The Hobbit.
