Public Service Announcement (August 2017)



As July comes to an end it's a good time to look ahead at what awaits in August. I will aim to put together a little overview of upcoming posts and events at the end of each month but without further ado, let's see what you have to look forward to throughout August.

The Hull's Angels' Horus Heresy Campaign Day

As I mentioned in my last post I will be taking part in a campaign day in a few weeks. I will report on how my battles go and get the best bits from some of the other participants too. I have no doubt it will be a great day. The results will be up the week commencing 21st.

Army Roll Call

Every month I'm going to present an army painted by one of you. Yes, you, the readers.
I will also be asking questions about the presented legion: why it was chosen, favourite units, so on and so forth.

If you want to be featured let me know and I'll see what we can sort.

Commander's Commentary

This feature will again be presented monthly and will focus on the leaders of the Legiones Astartes and the other armies within the 30k universe. I will choose one character to focus and comment on, discussing the lore surrounding them, the model designs (where applicable) and, of course, my thoughts on their stats and rules.

I thought it would be rude of me if I didn't start with a Primarch and I thought I'd put it to the vote as to who I should start with. The only rule: they must have a model. Cast your vote by leaving a comment below or on our Facebook page.

Unboxing/Rules Review

I will aim to give you an unboxing and review of one of the new 30k products every month. This will naturally be money dependant, so at the very least I will let you know my thoughts on some of the new releases. Please note this is likely to be Horus Heresy models only, so if the release schedule doesn't favour this particular Warhammer franchise this may be skipped on occassion (I'm looking at the likes of you, Gabriel Angelos).

Awesome, a new character series model! Wait a minute.... Nice try, 40k....

Battle Report: Sons of Horus vs Imperial Fists and Space Wolves

Battle Report (20th May 2017) First battle report - well, you've got to start somewhere! A bit of history with this one - in a previous battle the Sons of Horus had a convincing win against the Space Wolves and Imperial Fist and they demanded a rematch. Read on for the result... Combatants Sons of Horus - Lewis Sons of Horus (Luna Wolves) - Tom (XVth) vs. Imperial Fists - Dave Space Wolves - Liam Setup The battle was 6000pts aside, and with a Primarch and a warhound titan on each side mayhem and destruction was assured. It was standard Dawn of War deployment and Mission 6 from the Age of Darkness book - War of Lies. Sons of Horus won the roll off and chose for the Fists and Wolves to deploy first. With Horus on side it was quite likely they could seize the initiative after all. Dawn of Warhammer Fest

It's almost upon us! This Saturday is that start of a weekend centred around all things Warhammer. I will be giving updates via the Facebook page throughout the first day, so you can think of this as the pre-event build up. Let's see what we have to look forward to! Seminars and Demo Pods Of course, there are the presentations which will include news on the next batch of models to be released, painting demos for the new plague marines, the chance to meet some of the authors of the GW novels, and more. I will be booking my ticket for the Future of Warhammer seminar as soon as I arrive so will hopefully be able to give you an update around midday. Saturday's plan of attack: get there, get in room 1 for 11am, do Warhammer stuff. Done. The Grand Tornament Taking place over the entire weekend there will be battles spanning the whole GW range: Hours Heresy, 40k, Age of Sigmar, Bloodbowl, and The Hobbit.
