Open Day Overview

I know, I said I wasn't going to be able to make the Open Day but don't underestimate me - I have eyes and ears everywhere.

News

What new information did we get? Well, not a lot in honesty with regards to the Horus Heresy. There's no available update on Angelus or the rule book, but Dorn is nearing completion. Expect to see a preview in September.

There was one piece of big news that hit though; Necromunda is back! Expect to see this in stores "soon".

Displays

We knew that we were going to see plenty of Custodes at the open day. As was to be expected the Custodes terminator look suitably imposing in their golden armour.

Custodes Aquillon Terminators - because they weren't tough enough already

That wasn't the only imposing release we saw for the Custodes. There was a fantastic way of showing just how nervous their new Orion Assault Dropship should make you feel. Simply put it next to a Thunderhawk Gunship

Yep. That would do it.

One final honorable mention for the displays - it was nice to see the new Thousand Sons' Praetor.

Because what's a blog post without a bit of favouritism

Future Releases

It's time for one of the most important sections which is looking at what you will be able to spend your hard earned cash on in the following months. Call me boring, but I am quite looking forward to the new Legion doors that will be coming out. We saw the designs for Dark Angels, Iron Warrios, Blood Angels, and Sons of Horus, none of which disappointed.

We will even be getting some doors to fit the Deimos pattern vehicles

Okay, okay, maybe you don't find doors that interesting. It's not as if they provide any advantage in an army, I hear you. How about a new praetor then, is that any better? Now before you all go getting excited, I'll let you know it is a Legion specific design. The clue as to which Legion is in the fur, runes, axe, and beard.

Hint: It's Space Wolves

Painting Competition

Because I wasn't there I saw a very limited number of entries. There we're some truly fantastic submissions from both this competition and entries from years gone by, including a previous Battlefleet Gothic entry, an impressive Night Lord's Leviathan, but the one that caught my eye the most was this beautiful Maloghurst (if that's a way Maloghurst could be described) that was another previous entry.

One Equerry to be truly proud of

If you were there let me know what your highlights were. Perhaps you heard some juicy gossip, or you have a photo of a competition entry that you thought was particularly impressive.
