Calling All Heresy Players - Week 1: Your Army

Toady's the day we start our campaign expressing out pride and love for The Horus Heresy! I'm hoping to see all of your armies on display regardless of whether they're big or small, Mechanicum or Astartes, painted or grey, or anything else for that matter. Get them out! Get them shown off!

I will do an overview of some of the armies I've seen so if you want a chance of your army being proudly displayed on here please share your post with our Facebook page. The first army I have to show you is, of course, my own.

A reasonable amount of Thousand Sons, though some units clearly need completing

Well, here they are - my Thousand Sons. Yes, I need to fill in the blobs of red with some gold and white detailing, but it's getting there. The small chaps back left are a missile squad and, in front of them, some tactical marines, and more units will be on the way.

Got to love a Glaive

And where would an army be without some cheese, in my instance in the form of a Glaive.

"But Tom, you collect Thousand Sons, you already have enough chesse!"

No such thing. I love cheese, and strong cheese at that. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to pull the low blow of Magnus as HQ and a Glaive as my Lord of War every game, but now and then in a friendly match why wouldn't you?

My converted Assault Marines using Khenetai Blade parts and shields from Anvil Industries

These are my assault marines. They have often be useful for objective grabbing and they have been known to be an effective tar pit thanks to their combat shields and +1 to their invulnerable saves. Still tempted to get another 10, but I have other priorities for now.

My Praetor and accompanying Sekhmet

This unit is one of my favourite. Everyone, meet my Praetor who I have named Ahmost. Why have I bothered naming him? Well, at 275 points he's definitely worth it. Not only that, the fact he has walked through a Hetaeron Guard squad of Custodes without breaking a sweat earned him the right to a name.

Now that's what I call making use of you HQ slots

Well, there's a brief overview of my current force of Sons, but a lot of people have more than one army and I'm no exception. My other force? Luna Wolves.

Here are some of my Luna Wolves. And no, I probably don't have enough Justaerin

I use these guys to get in quick and exactly where I need them, with most every unit either deepstriking, out flanking, or infiltrating. Why the Sisters, you ask? I play Thousand Sons so I know that it's best to be prepared! And of course I could not have my Luna Wolves and then forget to include Horus in his white armour.

Warmaster Horus - Regal and, in my army, loyal

So, there you have it, my offering for week one. Check back later this week where I will post up some of your armies to show off and don't forget to start preparing for week two: your anecdotes.
