Calling All Heresy Players - Week 1: Your Army

Toady's the day we start our campaign expressing out pride and love for The Horus Heresy! I'm hoping to see all of your armies on display regardless of whether they're big or small, Mechanicum or Astartes, painted or grey, or anything else for that matter. Get them out! Get them shown off! I will do an overview of some of the armies I've seen so if you want a chance of your army being proudly displayed on here please share your post with our Facebook page. The first army I have to show you is, of course, my own. A reasonable amount of Thousand Sons, though some units clearly need completing Well, here they are - my Thousand Sons. Yes, I need to fill in the blobs of red with some gold and white detailing, but it's getting there. It must be said that the 30k scene seems to have died down a little, or at least it has in my local area. I personally love it: the lore, the characters, and, of course, the game! As such, I want to see you (yes, you) share your passion for it too in the hope that it will encourage a few more games and maybe pique the interest of some new players. There may not be all the Primarchs here, but we still want you all involved! Every week for the next six weeks I'd like to see what you have done with The Horus Heresy as follows: Week 1 (5th March) Post a picture of your army no matter how little or large, painted or otherwise. Week 2 (12th March) Everyone has had that one moment in the middle of a game that has made you laugh. Tell us your funny stories that have happened to you mid-game. Highway to Heresy - Part 3

Well this highway has taken an unexpected turn. It's even becoming a bit of a roller-coaster... Damnit, Forge World, you had one job! Yes, you've read right. The rulebook has been delayed; this is a sad for heretics and loyalists alike. This has come at very short notice, seeing as we were told today would be the day it could be pre-ordered. Apparently this decision was reached "Following a print quality check...", so at least that means that they might actually be checking for typographical errors for a change! But enough of being annoyed as it won't actually bring the book out any quicker. Let's instead use this time to speculate further. Firstly, will this still be coming out this month? I hope so, I truly do. Delaying the book is annoying but we still have practically an entire month to go. So, if it does come out this month what can we expect to pay? Highway to Heresy - Part 2

Well, this looks like it's a very short highway really as the release date for the Horus Heresy Rulebook has been confirmed. Ta-da! So when, pray tell, is this glorious day? The answer is even shorter than the one given in part one - Friday. Yes, that's right brethren and sistren, you can pre-order the Age of Darkness Rulebook in five days time. "But Tom," I hear you all shout, "what is actually changing? You've teased a few changes but we want more!" Please, one at a time! Firstly, from the article posted on the Warhammer Community page (found here ) very little is changing. It's functionally the 7th edition Warhammer 40,000 rules we all know and love with "...some balance changes based on community feedback".  Secondly - more teasers, you say? Highway to Heresy - Part 1

I'm sure by now we all know that Horus Heresy is getting its own rule book, something that is greatly anticipated seeing as we are still using the 40k 7th edition rules. There are many question floating around. Is it just 7th ed re-written? Are psychic powers going to become a little calmer? Where exactly can we find the "Agile" special rule right now, and will this be clearer in the future? All good questions, but first let's answer the most important one - when can Forge World take my money in exchange for one of these precious tomes? The quick answer - November (hopefully). Yes, that's right. From what I've heard on the grapevine it may only be a mere 3 or 4 weeks until we can get our hands on this. Public Service Announcement (September 2017)

I know what you're thinking, this month has been a little sparse compared to what I promised and, unfortunately, my activity will be less than I would like over the next month or so. "Pffft. I could have guessed this would happen!" You can be quiet! I have a good and exciting reason; I'm moving house. Anyone who has had to go through this rigmarole will know exactly how awkward this can be, so I do hope you can bear with me. So, where am I moving you ask? I have bought a nice pyramid-top apartment on the outskirts of Tizca, Prospero, overlooking the great library. It's absolutely stunning. Open Day Overview

I know, I said I wasn't going to be able to make the Open Day but don't underestimate me - I have eyes and ears everywhere. News What new information did we get? Well, not a lot in honesty with regards to the Horus Heresy. There's no available update on Angelus or the rule book, but Dorn is nearing completion. Expect to see a preview in September. There was one piece of big news that hit though; Necromunda is back! Expect to see this in stores "soon". Displays We knew that we were going to see plenty of Custodes at the open day. As was to be expected the Custodes terminator look suitably imposing in their golden armour. Custodes Aquillon Terminators - because they weren't tough enough already That wasn't the only imposing release we saw for the Custodes. There was a fantastic way of showing just how nervous their new Orion Assault Dropship should make you feel. Simply put it next to a Thunderhawk Gunship Yep. That would do it. ...
